This autumn, a number of European businesses found out about a new monthly cap on their transfers the hard way: at the moment of payment. No advance notice, no conversation, just a message that the transfer could not go through.

For a freelancer, a cap of a few tens of thousands a month is rarely a problem. For a company paying a factory in Shenzhen, a shipping line, or the seller of an aircraft, it stops the business. The supplier is waiting, the cargo is on hold, the deal has a deadline.

At Transferra, we start from a different place. The size of a payment is not what decides whether we can help. Understanding your business is.

The amount is not the first question

A €15 000 invoice and a €1.5 million purchase are different numbers, but the questions behind them are the same. What does your company do? Who are you paying, and why? Where does the money come from, and how does this payment fit the way your business normally works?

Once those answers are clear, the amount becomes a detail of the deal, not a barrier to it. We work with payments from €15 000 to €1.5 million and above, across 195+ countries.

This does not mean large payments skip checks. A bigger payment gets the attention it deserves. The difference is that we assess it with you, in a conversation with a person who knows your account, instead of applying one fixed ceiling to every business in a region.

Every industry moves money differently. A wholesale trader pays suppliers in large, irregular batches. A shipping company settles freight and port fees across several jurisdictions in a week. An asset manager moves capital in sums that would look unusual anywhere else. We know that, and we plan for it.

What large payments look like in practice

Behind every large transfer there is something real being bought, moved or built. A few of the payments businesses bring to us:

  • An aircraft. A private or business jet purchase, often with a deposit, an escrow stage and a final settlement, each with its own deadline.
  • A container from China. Payment to a manufacturer for goods that will not leave the port until the money arrives.
  • Industrial equipment and machinery. Production lines, agricultural machinery, components ordered months in advance.
  • Real estate. Deposits and completion payments, where timing is fixed by a contract and a notary.
  • Yachts, vehicles and high-value assets. One-off purchases where the counterparty expects the full sum, not instalments forced by a limit.
  • Wholesale and commodity trade. Grain, food products, consumer goods: regular large batches paid to suppliers in different countries.

What these have in common: the sum is large because the deal is large. Splitting it into monthly portions is not an option.

How we handle a large payment

  1. You talk to a person. Every client has a dedicated sales and account manager. You explain the deal once, to someone who will still be there when the payment goes out.
  2. We understand the transaction. Contract, invoice, counterparty, the purpose of the payment. For complicated corporate structures, we look at how the group is built, not just at one entity.
  3. We agree on the route. With a large network of payment providers, we choose the route that fits the currency, the destination and the timing.
  4. The payment goes out, and you know where it is. Your manager keeps you informed until the funds reach the recipient.

If a payment needs additional documents, we tell you before the deadline, not at the payment screen.
