Before you start
Having these to hand makes the process faster:
- Your company’s registration number (CRN), legal address and date of registration
- Details of any licences your business holds
- An overview of the payment methods you need and who you’ll send funds to
- Names, dates of birth and nationalities of your directors, authorised signatories, shareholders and ultimate beneficial owners
- A valid passport or ID card for each of them
Step 1: Provide company details
Start by finding your company. Select the country where it’s registered, enter its name and click Find company.
On the next screen, check your company information: name, registration number, legal address and date of registration. For UK companies, the registration number is 8 digits, or 2 letters followed by 6 digits. Once everything is correct, click Save and continue.
Step 2: Complete the questionnaire
Next, tell us in detail about your company and how you plan to use your account. The questionnaire is split into short pages, with a page counter so you always know how far you’ve got. It covers:
- Regulatory and licensing: whether your company holds any licences required for its activity
- Products and payment methods: which payment methods you need, from SEPA and SEPA Instant to UK Faster Payments, Bacs and CHAPS, international SWIFT transfers, Visa cards and other local methods
- Payment flows: who you expect to send funds to, such as corporate or individual customers, payment service providers, marketplaces, group companies, shareholders or lenders
Required questions are marked, and you can go back to change an answer before you submit.
Step 3: Provide associated party details
The last step maps who runs and owns your business. Add representatives one by one, as individuals or as companies, and assign each of them their roles. One person can hold several roles.
| Role | Who it covers |
|---|---|
| Authorised signatory | Authorised to sign documents and contracts on behalf of the company |
| Director | Manages the company’s business and strategic decisions |
| Ultimate beneficial owner (UBO) | Individuals with direct or indirect ownership above 25% |
| Shareholder | Parties with direct ownership below 25% |
For each individual you add, enter their first and last name, date of birth and nationality. A checklist of required roles shows what’s still missing, so you can see when your ownership and control structure is complete.
All associated parties then verify their identity:
- Answer a few questions about how they plan to use the account.
- Select the issuing country and type of their identity document: passport or ID card.
- Upload a clear photo or scan of the document in JPG, PNG, HEIC, WEBP or PDF format, up to 50 MB.
When every required role is covered, click Submit.
Why we ask
As a UK FCA-authorised Electronic Money Institution, we need to know who we work with and how each account will be used. The more complete your answers, the less we need to come back to you with follow-up questions. If your structure spans several countries or holding companies, that’s fine: tell us about it here and our team will review it with you.
